Marc Thivierge

Born in Ottawa in 1953 - Franco-Ontarian Mentors: Bernard Poulin High school diploma in 1973 Algonquin College, Ottawa: Advertising, Cinematography, majoring in sound engineering 1974 to 1979. So many different jobs: artist agent, musician, producer, radio host at CIBL, CKMF and Radio-Canada, press agent, organizer, producer or director of the programmation of artist events throughout Quebec. Work in written communications as a columnist, editor and publisher. Finished and restored furniture. Artistic approach: Acyclic paint & paper on chipboard and on canvas. For twenty years, I have decomposed and recomposed illustrations and reproductions of works of art on paper. I gave them new spaces, out of context and different volumes. Today, I define movements, I imagine scenes and I transpose them into an arrangement of colours to create a work that is both a pleasure for the eye and the intellect. There is no message in my paintings. They exist for the pleasure of the eye. My interest in to define unimaginable movements, colour arrangements and scenes. My influence is life.
